The second international seminar on the theme: “Customs Developments in the Postal Sector”
31 January – 1 February 2012 the second international seminar on “Customs Developments in the Postal Sector” organized with the financial support of UPU took place in Tashkent.
Specialists of the 9 postal service administrations of the RCC countries, USA postal service, EC of RCC, UPU, Uzbek Agency of Informatization and Communication, OJSC “Uzbekistan Pochtasi”, SUE “UNICON.UZ”, State Inspection of Communication and specialists of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in it.
- rules of receiving, transportation and delivery of dangerous cargo– «Lithium batteries»;
- customs obligations and decisions of ICT concerning the postal security, the concept of preliminary letters of advice and principles of exchange of electronic data between the partners who are involved in the process of mail exchange;
- customs strategy plan, strategy of providing safety;
- measures regarding the providing aircraft safety and physical security.
The representatives of USA Postal Service informed about the situation regarding the measures of providing aircraft safety by the USA Transport Security Department and amendments concerning the measures of aircraft security that are discussed by European Union.
The discussion on exchange of experiences regarding the preliminary letters of advice, exchange of electronic data with the customs and measures to provide aircraft and physical safety was held.
All the participants were given certificates at the end of the seminar.
